Water-resistant and encased in a dark, non-reflective, rubber-armored body, the Merlin can be used outdoors under any conditions. The earth-toned armoring actually camouflages the binocular to a bird's eye. Weighing under 24 ounces, the binocular is easy to carry on its own padded neck strap, or in a pack or jacket pocket.
